of wind, utility-scale solar and battery storage capacity in the first half of the year.

Data released by the American Clean Energy (ACP) Association in its quarterly report showed that after commissioning 5,620 megawatts of capacity, installed capacity in the second quarter increased by 13%
    year-on-year.
The country added 2,226 MW of solar, 2,824 MW of wind, and 570 MW of battery storage capacity, marking quarter-over-quarter growth
    in each segment.

The state with the highest installed clean electricity capacity in the second quarter was Texas with 1,489 MW.

It is followed by California with 585 MW and Michigan with 424 MW, followed by Florida and Kansas with 373 MW and 301 MW, respectively

In the first six months of 2021, new clean power installations grew 17% year-over-year to a record 9,915 MW
    .
By mid-2021, the country had more than 180,216 megawatts of clean electricity capacity, enough to meet the needs
of more than 50 million households.

"This growth and expansion is expected to continue, but we need long-term decisions from government policymakers to ensure we can continue to develop these critical projects," said
    Heather Zichal, CEO of ACP.
