planned to jointly invest 350 billion won to build a nitric acid and nitric acid derivative (DNT) production facility in Yeosu Industrial Park

Hanwha Solutions plans to invest 160 billion won, and Hanwha Co.
, Ltd.
plans to invest 190 billion won to build a nitric acid and nitrate derivative (DNT) facility

The two companies plan to build a TDI production facility with an annual capacity of 180,000 tons using half of the 132,000 ^{- square}^- meter polysilicon site in Hanwha Solutions Yeosu Industrial Complex , or 66,000 square meters .
The goal is to achieve commercial production in January 2024 .
"With this in-house DNT production, we will build a vertically integrated line for the production of caustic soda, chlorine, synthesis gas, DNT and TDI," an official from Hanwha Solutions explained .

Hanwha Solutions predicts that if TDI is produced in-house, operating margins will increase by around 10% due to cost improvements
