Health Care Commission: 23 new confirmed 16 cases are imported from abroad

August 23, 0-24 hours, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 16 new confirmed cases, all of which were imported from abroad (5 in Shanghai, 3 in Fujian, 3 in Sichuan, 3 in Yunnan, 1 in Shanxi, 1 in Shandong);
30 new cases were cured and discharged from hospital on the same day, 1,375 close contacts were removed from medical observation, and 2 fewer serious cases were reported than the previous day.
215 confirmed cases (of which 2 are serious cases) and 2 suspected cases have been imported from outside China. A total of 2418 confirmed cases, a total of 2203 cases cured out of hospital, no deaths.
As of 2400 hours on August 23, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported that there were 408 confirmed cases (of which 14 were serious cases), a total of 79925 cases were cured and discharged from hospital, 4634 cumulative deaths were reported, 84967 confirmed cases were reported and 2 suspected cases were reported. A total of 811,824 close contacts were traced, and 13,220 close contacts were still under medical observation.
31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 27 new cases of asymptomatic infection (all imported from abroad);
received a total of 5215 confirmed cases from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Of these,
4,682 cases (4,018 discharges, 77 deaths), 46 cases (46 discharges) in the Macao Special Administrative Region, and 487 cases in
regions (457 discharges and 7 deaths).
