Heilongjiang promotes home-based old-age services

end of 2018, the number of elderly people aged 60 and over in Heilongjiang Province reached 7.48 million. In a teleconsecond held recently to promote the work of home-based community and rural old-age services in the province, Heilongjiang provincial government proposed to ensure that by 2022 the relevant old-age service facilities to be built 100% of the standard.In recent years, The work of home-based community and rural old-age service in Heilongjiang Province has achieved positive results. By October this year, the province has built 1662 home-based old-age service sites in urban communities and 1,137 home-based old-age service sites in rural communities. In urban areas, 80 per cent of communities provide home-based aged care services. In the countryside, we have explored and carried out the model of home-based mutual assistance for old-age care and the centralized living and happy old-age care.
Shen Ying, vice governor of Heilongjiang Province, suggested that all regions should expand the consumption of old-age services with their intentions, enrich the content of old-age services on the basis of meeting the basic life of the elderly, meet the needs of the elderly in different aspects of health care, tourism, culture and so on, and promote the application of science and technology products to home-based old-age services. To focus on safety and comfort and convenience, the community old-age service facilities will be put in place, combined with the old community transformation, the facilities will be matched, especially to promote the aging of the home community transformation work. In addition, we should promote the professionalization of the nursing service team, integrate the management of the elderly service personnel into the vocational training program of the People's Social Security Office, improve the level of vocational literacy and nursing knowledge, promote the establishment of nursing and rehabilitation majors in colleges and universities, and do a good job in financial support and the protection of the rights and interests of the elderly.It was requested that by 2022, at least one community old-age service with comprehensive functions will be built on all urban streets in Heilongjiang Province, and that the coverage of community day care services reach more than 90%.
