    January 7, 2020: APK deploys Nordson's complete downstream melt processing system for use with its innovative Newcycling® process, which works by converting mixed and multi-layer waste into resins with properties close to virgin resins.
    Purify polymers to meet the requirements of a circular economy


    The first Newcycling® plant in Merseburg, Germany, started commercial operations in June with an annual capacity of 8,000 tons for the separation of polyethylene and polyamide from multilayer packaging films (from industrial waste)


    BKG equipment includes BlueFlow™ gear pumps, HiCon™ screen changers, polymer diverter valves, underwater pelletizers and Master-Line™ process water/pellet dryer systems


    "Our Mersamid® products are designed to meet demanding technical applications and can be used to replace virgin plastics," said Florian Riedl, APK's Director of Business Development


    Mr Riedl noted that APK will build a second Newcycling® plant elsewhere in Europe with a capacity of 20,000 tonnes to process mixed film waste from consumer product waste
