    Honeywell Total Energy to promote plastic recycling

    Sinochem News recently, Honeywell and Total Energy signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly promote the development of advanced plastic recycling technology
    .

    Under the agreement, Honeywell will provide Total Energy with recycled polymer feedstock produced by Honeywell's UpCycle process technology through a plastic recycling plant jointly established with Spain's Savi
    .


    The project is expected to be put into operation in 2023 and can convert 30,000 tons of mixed waste plastics into recycled polymer raw materials each year


    "As demand for plastics continues to grow, it is critical to strengthen the circular flow of plastics to close the loop between waste plastic management and plastic production,
    " said Ben Owens, vice president and general manager of Honeywell's Sustainable Technology Solutions business.



    “It is a pleasure to work with Honeywell to develop advanced recycling technologies to address the issue of waste plastics, thereby driving the sustainable development
    of the circular economy,” said Valérie Goff, Senior Vice President, Polymers, Total Energy.


    We achieve our goal of producing 30% of recycled and renewable polymers by 2030.


    Honeywell's UpCycle process technology uses industry-leading molecular transformation, pyrolysis and pollutant management technologies to broaden the range of recyclable plastics
    .


    Industry insiders say the technology, when combined with other chemical and mechanical recycling processes to improve collection and sorting, is expected to increase the proportion of plastic waste that is recyclable globally to 90%
