Sesame oil is almost a must-have condiment for every family.
A few drops of cold dressing and soup can enrich the taste of food
    .

What is the difference between different sesame oil?

There are many kinds of sesame oil on the market.
What is the difference between different sesame oil?

According to the definition of the current national standard (GB/T 8233-2018 "Sesame Oil"), the sesame oil on the market is mainly divided into several types due to different processing techniques:

    1.
Sesame sesame oil refers to the finished sesame oil with rich fragrance obtained by roasting sesame seeds and using pressing or filtering process
    .

    2.
Small milled sesame sesame oil refers to the finished sesame oil obtained by roasting and stone milling sesame seeds and using water substitution method
    .

    3.
Refined sesame oil refers to the refined sesame oil produced by refining sesame crude oil
    .

According to the requirements of the standard, the color of sesame sesame oil (including small milled sesame sesame oil) should be orange-yellow, orange-red to brown-red, transparent or slightly turbid
    .
Refined sesame oil is light yellow or orange-yellow, transparent or slightly turbid
    .

    How to choose sesame oil?

Generally speaking, there is basically no difference in the content of fatty acids in sesame oil prepared by different processing techniques
    .
But compared to other sesame oils, small milled sesame sesame oil has the purest flavor, mellow taste and softest taste, while the price of sesame sesame oil is generally lower than that of small milled sesame oil, which is more economical and cost-effective
    .

Faced with the dazzling array of sesame oil on the market, consumers have different opinions on the choice of different varieties of sesame oil
    .
So, how should consumers choose sesame oil with guaranteed quality?

When consumers buy sesame oil, they can judge by several steps:

      Look
    .
Take a look at the food production license number, which should consist of SC (the abbreviation of "production" in Chinese Pinyin) and 14 Arabic numerals.
If there is no SC number, it is an informal enterprise product, so try not to buy it
    .
Second, look at the ingredient list.
The ingredients should be "sesame" or "sesame oil", and cannot contain other oils or other types of vegetable oils, otherwise it is a blended sesame oil, not sesame oil
    .

      Smell
    .
Pure sesame oil has a strong and mellow fragrance, while the sesame blend oil has a lighter sesame fragrance; the sesame blend oil, which is illegally blended with flavor, has a more pungent and unusual fragrance
    .

Although sesame oil is fragrant, don't eat more!

A lower amount of sesame oil can effectively enhance the flavor and taste of food
    .
But sesame oil also belongs to cooking oil, and the total daily intake of cooking oil should be controlled
    .
The Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents (2016) recommends that the total daily intake of cooking oil for adults is 25-30 g
    .
At present, the actual intake of cooking oil by Chinese residents is too much.
Data shows that the average daily intake of cooking oil per standard person in urban and rural areas across the country is 42.
1 g, which has greatly exceeded the recommended intake
    .
A quantitative and controlled intake of edible cooking oil can effectively reduce the risk of chronic diseases
    .
