Huawei Marine and Megacable announced that they are conducting marine surveys of the Topolobambo-La Paz submarine cable project
    .

The submarine cable system will provide more stable and low-latency communications
to La Paz, Mexico's second-largest tourist destination.

La Paz is located at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula and is currently connected
to mainland Mexico through a terrestrial fiber optic system on the peninsula.
The new system will connect La Paz directly to Topolobambo
on the mainland via an undersea fiber optic cable in the Gulf of California.
The solution is expected to address the high failure rate caused by overhead fiber optic cables and help customers develop new services
    in the region.

The Topolobambo - La Paz submarine cable system is a 250 km long repeat-free submarine cable system with 24 fiber pairs
    .
The system has a capacity of 192Tb/s and is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2019
    .

"With the La Paz project, Huawei Marine's technology and service capabilities have once again been recognized by Latin American customers," Huawei Marine said, "The complex terrain and environment of the Gulf and Peninsula region have put forward high requirements
for the design and construction of submarine fiber optic cables.
" Huawei Marine's extensive experience in difficult projects around the world will ensure the smooth completion
of the Topolobambo - La Paz project.
