China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation announced on November 12 that the new report on proven reserves of the West Sichuan Gas Field of Southwest Petroleum Bureau passed the review of the Ministry of Natural Resources a few days ago, and the newly-added proven reserves were 83 billion cubic meters.

The western Sichuan gas field is located on the western edge of the Sichuan Basin.
The main gas reservoir is buried at a depth of about 6000 meters, and the gas field covers an area of about 138 square kilometers.
It is a large-scale sour gas field.
In 2018 , Southwest Petroleum Bureau first deployed Pengzhou 1 well and other exploratory wells in the area to successively obtain high-yield industrial gas flows, which led to the discovery of the Western Sichuan gas field.
Since 2019 , the Southwest Petroleum Bureau has successively deployed 11 development wells , and all 7 wells that have been drilled have achieved good production, which strongly supports the submission of new proven reserves in the western Sichuan gas field.
