Iberdrola has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Basque-based telecommunications provider Euskaltel to power a 391MW solar project, which is said to be the first PPA signed between a power company and a Telefónica operator

It is understood that Iberdrola has signed a 10-year PPA for solar projects with Grupo Kutxabank, which it also claims to be the first such contract
signed between an energy company and a bank.
Iberdrola Spain's Marketing Director said: "PPAs represent a huge opportunity to develop clean energy sources that will influence the future of
world power.
Renewable energy sources have proven their competitive advantage and ability to
supply electricity at affordable, stable prices.
