[Source] This product is the dried mature seeds of the legume Cassia obtuse folia L.

【Properties】

(1) Cassia: Slightly rhombohedral or short cylindrical, with both ends inclined parallel, 3-7mm long and 2-4mm wide

(2) Cassia: short and cylindrical, small, 3～5mm long and 2～3mm wide

【Microscopic identification】This product is yellow-brown powder

【Character identification characteristics】

(1) Slightly rhomboid or short cylindrical shape, with both ends parallel and inclined, one end flat, and the other end obliquely pointed

(2) The surface is greenish brown or dark brown, smooth and shiny

(3) There is a protruding ridge on each dorsal and ventral surface, and a diagonally symmetrical and lighter linear concave pattern on each side of the ridge

【Microscopic identification features】

(1) Seed coat palisade cells are colorless or light yellow, with 1 row of cells in lateral view; surface view is similar to polygonal, and the wall is slightly shrunken

(2) The surface of the seed coat supporting cells is round, with two concentric circles visible

(3) There are many clusters of calcium oxalate, mostly in parenchyma cells
