Stroke is the main cause of long-term disability.

This study aims to estimate the upper limb injury of stroke survivors by introducing a method based on a single, minimal-burden motor task and two wearable inertial sensors (one worn on the wrist of the stroke-affected limb and the other on the sternum) , Thereby minimizing the burden of instruments and tasks for wearable sensing evaluation.

    Twenty-three stroke patients were recruited.

In this paper, a new decomposition method is used to segment the complex three-dimensional upper limb motion into one-dimensional motion units.

Compared with subjects with a lesser degree of damage, certain motor elements produced by subjects with a higher degree of damage have sharper peaks.
