In recent years, the growth of China's tea consumption market has been relatively slow, the overall operation situation has tended to be stable, and the problem of structural imbalance between product supply and demand has become increasingly prominent

Structural imbalance between supply and demand highlights

At present, the quality of tea processing products in China has been continuously improved, the categories have become increasingly rich, and the digital and automated models have gradually advanced

Jiang Yongwen believes that there are three major problems in tea processing in China at present: First, the product structure of tea does not match the market demand, the proportion of famous tea is too large, the bulk tea is ignored, showing a product structure with two ends, large middle and low, and the product style cannot effectively satisfy consumers.

Second, the existing production methods cannot support the sustainable development of the tea industry, resulting in labor shortages and rising production costs; low processing precision and unstable product quality, manifested in the low precision of tea processing equipment and poor production line integrity

The third is the lack of cutting-edge technology reserves in the field of tea processing, the lack of technologies such as online rapid perception and the quality control of in-process products, the lack of research on the mutual promotion mechanism of tea product quality reprocessed with different raw materials, and the lack of depth of cross-border application technology innovation

Faced with the strategic problem of the tea industry's structural production exceeding sales, Yin Junfeng, a researcher at the Tea Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, further proposed that it is urgent to make full use of summer and autumn tea through technological innovation, promote the extension of the industrial chain and improve the benefits of the entire industry

Adapting to new concepts, tea industry has more opportunities to break through boundaries

In the new era, people's demand for a better life has also changed from quantity demand to quality demand, from basic demand to quality life, and from imitation survival to individualized development

Yin Junfeng said that at present, the structural production of the tea industry exceeds the sales, and the upstream bulk raw materials are homogeneous and single.

Jiang Yongwen believes that there will be three trends in the future development of tea processing in order to meet new needs: first, the development of new products tends to be of high quality, diversification, convenience and functionality

The second is that tea processing tends to be oriented, precise and intelligent

Finally, research related to tea processing will tend to be deeply integrated

It is worth noting that Yin Junfeng believes that there are many bright spots in the development of intensive processing during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, such as the recognition of market value brought by high-quality instant tea, matcha and its extensions and new tea drinks.

At the same time, Wang Yuefei, a professor at Zhejiang University, mentioned that China's substitute tea industry is booming.

Multi-party efforts to crack the "bottleneck" of tea development

Faced with the current situation of tea processing, how to solve the imbalance of tea structure and the development "bottleneck" during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, experts have put forward main development ideas and key research or breakthrough directions from their respective research fields

Jiang Yongwen said that the key tasks of tea processing during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period are mainly research on key processing technologies for tea quality improvement, research on characteristic flavor control technology and product development, research and development of "unmanned processing plants" for tea, and blending of new tea products.

Yin Junfeng believes that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, tea deep processing will achieve high-quality development by breaking through the boundaries of thinking, integrating resource innovation, rebuilding resource innovation, and rebuilding product structure; in the industry, it will shift from focusing on production to focusing on the market; in terms of products , from industrialized raw material processing to green and precise terminal consumer goods manufacturing; in terms of innovation, from a single technology innovation model to a whole industry chain technology integration innovation model

"Through the deep processing and diversified utilization of tea, and the comprehensive utilization of traditional deep processing technology of agricultural products, intelligent manufacturing technology, modern biological new technology and digital blending technology, China will transform from a big tea deep processing and manufacturing country to a strong tea deep processing manufacturing country
    .
    " Yin Junfeng added
    .

Wang Yuefei pointed out that the research and development of tea health products aimed at promoting tea consumption has attracted more and more attention
    .
In particular, if the natural caffeine extracted from tea can be used in beverages and food, China can consume 3 million tons of summer and autumn tea a year, and tea farmers can earn more than 2,000 yuan per mu
    .

In addition, after more than ten years of rapid development, China's tea industry is transforming and upgrading from a quantity-scale type to a quality-benefit type
    .
The development of China's tea industry is inseparable from the guidance and assistance of standards in the past, present and future
    .
Yang Xiufang, a researcher at the Hangzhou Tea Research Institute of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, said that in the past ten years, tea standardization has developed rapidly, and China's tea standardization technology system has been built and improved, and more than 100 national standards have been issued
    .
The key tasks of the domestic tea standardization work during the "14th Five-Year Plan" are to strengthen the publicity, publicity and training of standardization knowledge; according to the international situation, national strategy, scientific and technological progress, and industrial needs, improve China's tea standard system with counties as units and based on regions.
The construction of tea standardization system for public brand building will be paid attention to; the standardization ability and level improvement with enterprises as the basic unit will be paid attention to; the construction of the national physical standard system of tea will be further emphasized.
This work can be used for industrial scale and intensive operation , product quality stability and market reputation to provide support
    .

In addition, she pointed out that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the key tasks of China's tea national standard standardization work are to take the lead in undertaking or participate in the formulation and revision of tea national standard standards; cultivate and build a talent team engaged in the standardization of tea national standards; actively organize groups to participate in ISO/ TC34/SC8 tea standard work conference, actively undertake ISO/TC34/SC8 tea standard work conference; continue to promote the English translation of tea national standards
    .
