In 2018, Amazon India will install 8,000 kilowatts of rooftop solar

Amazon India recently said that in its global initiative to generate clean energy, it will install 8,000 kilowatts (kilowatts) of rooftop solar panels in Indian warehousing centers and sorting stations by the end of the year to enable renewable energy to supply itself
.

Amazon India said in a statement that it currently has nearly 1,600 kilowatts of solar panels
installed in two storage centers in Delhi and Hyderabad.
It plans to expand the initiative to five additional warehousing centres and two sorting stations in Bangalore, Mumbai and Chennai, while further expanding existing capacity
in Delhi.

Akhil Saxena, VP of Amazon India Accounts, said: "By the end of 2018, we plan to expand this installation to seven additional Amazon operated sites
in India.

Amazon India expects to generate nearly 8,000 kilowatts of solar energy
by the end of this year.

The company added that the investment in solar systems in India is in line with Amazon's vision
to deploy solar systems in 50 fulfillment and sorting centers around the world by 2020.
In addition, the company said it will plant 10,000 trees
around its warehousing center in the coming weeks.
