On January 15, according to the China Nuclear Power Research and Design Institute, a subsidiary of CNNC, the research and development, design and manufacture of hull platforms in the United Nations have completed the preliminary design and key technology research of offshore floating nuclear power plants in China's waters, and plan to start the construction of demonstration reactors at the end of 2016, and are expected to be completed and operated
in 2019.
Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission officially replied to the letter and agreed that the offshore floating nuclear power plant ACP100S declared by CNNC was included in the 13th Five-Year Plan
for energy innovation.
As a national high-tech industry development project, "Multi-purpose modular small pressurized water reactor ACP100" has been approved by the National Energy Administration in 2011, and all scientific research work
has been completed.
In recent years, China's nuclear power enterprises, including CNNC, have accelerated the development and promotion
of small nuclear reactors.
Song Danrong, chief designer of the multi-purpose modular small pressurized water reactor of the Nuclear Power Institute, said that based on 50 years of experience in the research and development of offshore small reactors, the ACP series of offshore floating nuclear power plants independently developed by the institute has achieved type spectroscopy
.
Song Danrong revealed that the Nuclear Power Institute has signed a cooperation agreement with the world's largest British Lloyd's Register and IAEA, and is carrying out safety review and regulation and standard formulation of floating nuclear power plants
