    7 million tons of aquatic products are produced in capture fisheries, while the rest are produced in aquaculture in the Mediterranean, Red Sea, Nile and freshwater lakes.
     
    The official also pointed out that the Egyptian fishery includes three major industrial pillars.
    The first pillar is regular cleaning and infrastructure upgrades for the lakes of Manzala, Borolos, Maryout and Bardawil, with a total output of 183,000 tons.
    The second pillar is the fishery project of the Suez Canal and its affiliated ports.
    The third pillar is the development of large-scale aquaculture production facilities through groundwater systems, as well as circulating water incubation facilities.
