According to the latest report by Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables, by 2027, the five countries bordering Eastern Europe and the Caspian Sea will add 16 GW of onshore wind power, with a compound annual growth rate of 9%
during the period.
The five Caspian littoral states include Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran

The market expansion in specific regions was mainly driven
by tender implementation tender programs in Russia, Kazakhstan and Poland and Ukraine.
Poland is also expected to become a major market
in the region following certain amendments to the renewable energy bill this summer.
This will enable projects that have been allowed but stopped to participate in wind power auctions
.
Meanwhile, Russia is expected to "experience tremendous growth" between 2021 and 2024, as developers face deadlines for most projects in past tenders

Ukraine is also expected to accelerate as it completes the transition from the feed-in tariff (FIT) program to competitive auctions by the end of 2019, strengthening competition and cutting costs
