According to the latest report by Willem van der Pijl, a veteran of the international shrimp industry and editor-in-chief of Shrimp Insights, India imported 154,000 vannamei shrimp species in the first half of 2021, an increase of 27% over the same period last year and an increase of 41% over the first half of 2019
    .

Van der Pijl believes that in terms of quantity, a large number of seed shrimps are used for summer breeding and seedling.
If the breeding conditions are generally satisfactory, the production at the end of the year is expected to be relatively optimistic
    .

As one of the world's largest exporters of white shrimp, India's seed shrimp is mainly purchased from the breeding bases in Florida and Miami, and a small part of the seed shrimp is supplied locally by India
    .

According to statistics, 60% of India's imported species of shrimp are from SIS.
Among them, Growth Line and Hardy Line are well recognized by the Indian market
    .
In India, SIS Growth Line has always been the fastest growing line, because most farmers expect to breed large-scale white shrimp in the shortest breeding cycle to minimize risks and increase productivity
    .

Kona Bay is the second largest shrimp supplier with a market share of approximately 32%
