From SeafoodNews on July 21, data from the Vietnam Association of Aquatic Products Exporters and Producers (VASEP) showed that in the first half of this year, Vietnam’s tuna exports were worth US $553 million, a year-on-year increase of 56.
In addition to basic tuna products, the US market has increased demand for canned tu.

From January to June this year, Vietnam’s tuna exports to Canada, Mexico and Japan increased by 68%, 30% and 26% year-on-year respective.
The European market imported US$77 million worth of Vietnamese tuna, up 4 percent year-on-ye.

VASEP forecasts that tuna exports will continue to grow in the final months of the year, boosting export earnings by 45 percent from 2021 to an estimated $1 billi.
