    Sun Yat-sen University research found that shift work is associated with a 30%
    increased risk of all-cause dementia.
    Dementia is an acquired persistent syndrome of intellectual impairment, and in addition to Alzheimer′s disease (AD), other common causes and types include vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, Parkinson's disease dementia, frontotemporal degeneration, and other central nervous system diseases or dementia caused by systemic, metabolic, toxic diseases
    .


    Frontotemporal lobe degeneration (FTLD) is a group of dementia syndromes characterized by progressive psychobehavioral abnormalities, executive dysfunction, and language impairment, and its pathology is characterized by selective progressive atrophy
    of the frontal and/or temporal lobes.

    1Variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD):


    • progressive worsening behavioural abnormalities, decreased interpersonal communication and/or executive skills;


    • With loss of affective response and decreased autonomic function

    2Progressive non-fluent aphasia (PNFA):


    • Incorrect grammatical structure of sentences, impaired fluency, and retention of word comprehension;


    • The pathological manifestations are atrophy of the anterolateral cleft cortex, mainly in the left hemisphere
      .


    3Semantic dementia (SD):
    • object naming and language comprehension impairment, while fluency, paraphrasing, and grammatical functions are preserved;


    • fluent speech but empty content, lack of vocabulary, dyslexia (can pronounce words pronunciation, but cannot read irregularly spelled words) and dysgraphia;


    • Impaired visual information processing (face and object asympathy) or other nonverbal functions in
      severe and advanced patients.
