Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) on Thursday extended deadlines for various activities under its recently proposed One Sun, One World, One Grid (OSOWOG) program
.
"In view of the situation and lockdowns that have prevailed in many parts of the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and at the request of many consulting firms, it has been decided to extend the schedule
of proposal application activities," the ministry said.

The deadline for the pre-bid meeting has been extended to 22 June 2020
.
The previous deadline was June 5
, 2020.
The submission date for proposals has also been extended from its previous deadline to July 22
, 2020.
The date for submitting questions has been extended from its earlier deadline of June 15, 2020 to June 29
, 2020.
In response to the supplier's request for clarification, it stated that it would provide responses on a rolling basis and that the final response would be provided no later than July 13, 2020, with the earliest date for submission of responses being June 29
, 2020.
According to the MNRE's proposal last month, India plans to build an interconnected transmission grid between states to supply clean energy
through this method.
MNRE has started working with a consulting firm to develop a long-term vision, implementation plan, roadmap and institutional framework to implement the ambitious OSOWOG plan
.
OSOWOG will be divided into three phases
.
In the first phase, the Indian grid is interconnected with grids in the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, sharing solar and other renewable energy resources to meet electricity demand, including peak demand
.
In the second phase, the grid built in the first phase is interconnected with the African Power Pool to share solar and other renewable energy electricity
in countries located in regions rich in solar and renewable energy.
The third stage will realize the global power grid interconnection, and finally realize the vision
of "one sun, one world, one grid".
