    According to recent news from Platts, India’s oil company’s board of directors has approved the construction of India’s first large-scale maleic anhydride plant in its Panipat Refinery and Petroleum Complex (PRPC) to produce high added value.

    Indian Petroleum said that the project plans to produce 120,000 tons of maleic anhydride (MAH) per year for the production of specialty products such as polyester resins, surface coatings, plasticizers, agrochemicals and lubricant additives

    The plant will also produce 20,000 tons/year of 1,4-butanediol for the production of polyurethane, polybutylene terephthalate (PBT)-an engineering-grade plastic and biodegradable fiber
