According to Sinochem News on November 5, GlobalData, the world's leading data and analysis company, said that between 2021 and 2025, India is expected to become the country with the second highest increase in LNG regasification capacity in Asia.
GlobalData's report "Global LNG Industry Outlook to 2025-Capacity and Capital Expenditure Outlook and Details of All Operating and Planning Terminals" shows that by 2025, India’s total LNG regasification capacity may increase by 3,428 billion cubic feet ( bcf)
GlobalData Oil and Gas Analyst Teja Pappoppula commented: “Most of India’s capacity increase is achieved through new projects, among which the announced Kakinada GBS floating terminal is the largest with a capacity of 351 billion cubic feet
In the expansion project, the Hazira Expansion regasification terminal accounts for most of India's expanded production capacity, and it is expected to increase the production capacity by 244 billion cubic feet by 2025
The country's third largest contributor is the planned Jaigarh Port Floating Terminal, which may add 274 billion cubic feet of production capacity in 2021
