Sinochem News reported on November 2 that the Indian Petroleum Commission approved the establishment of India’s first large-scale maleic anhydride plant at its Panipat Refinery and Petroleum Complex (PRPC) to produce value-added chemical products

Starting from the first phase of investment approval, the project will be put into use within 54 months, with a capital expenditure of 36.

The project plans to produce 1.

The plant will also produce another value-added chemical tetrahydroduran (THF) to accelerate the growth of the pharmaceutical industry

Regarding the newly approved projects, Indian Petroleum Corporation Chairman SM Vaidya said: “At present, these high-demand chemicals are mainly imported from India

"The project will consolidate a niche package of Indian Petroleum products and increase the Panipat refinery's lubricant and petrochemical integrity index to more than 15% after the refinery expansion plan is implemented
