According to recent news from the Energy Economy, ES Ranganathan, Marketing Director of GAIL (India), said that with the development of emerging industries such as steel, India’s natural gas consumption is expected to increase from the current 174 million cubic meters by the end of the 1920s.
/Day increased to 550 million cubic meters/day
.
At present, natural gas consumption is about 174 million cubic feet per cubic meter, mainly from fertilizer plants, urban gas networks and power units
.
Among them, 49% is produced domestically in India, and the rest is met by importing LNG
Ranganathan said that in terms of supply, India will reach about 380 million cubic feet per cubic meter from 2029 to 2030, and India's domestic production and import of liquefied natural gas and biogas will make a significant contribution
.
Despite the strong growth in India’s domestic natural gas production, LNG will continue to play a leading role in meeting India’s natural gas demand
