Indonesia initiates recall of Häagen-Dazs ice cream containing ethylene oxide

According to the clarification on the website of the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration on July 19, 2022, Indonesia has initiated a recall procedure for Häagen- Dazs vanilla ice cre.

Indonesia Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (INRASFF) was informed on July 8, 2022 from the EU Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (EURASFF): France notified Häagen-Dazs of ethylene oxide (EtO) levels exceeding EU regulations limit value requiremen.
To protect consumers , the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration has asked importers to stop importing vanilla-flavored ice cream in boxes and mini cups, and has expanded the recall category to include other types of ice cream products (46 liters in bulk cans.

In addition, as a precautionary measure, the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration has also asked importers to suspend the circulation or sale of other Häagen-Dazs ice cream products containing vanilla ingredients until the products are confirmed to be sa.
