For any coating application, parts need to be prepared for coating durability. This is not the place to steal and cut materials. The quality of surface preparation will directly affect the quality of
. Let us surface so that you can have confidence in the quality of the final product. Depending on the surface to be coated, the specifications of the job, and the intended use of the product, we may recommend one of the following preparation steps:
phosphate
iron phosphate is a treatment that can prepare metals for coating.
zinc phosphate
as a sacrificing anode and forms a barrier against oxidation of treated metals.
chromate
a cheap treatment process, chromate treatment is used in aluminum components to improve its adhesion and corrosion resistance. Chromate can also be used if the goal is to conduct the part.
anode
the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the metal surface. In addition to making parts more durable, anode oxidation increases its ability to be fixed to glue or primer.
Arodning
proud to utilize the Arodine brand's chromate conversion coating solution. Aluminum improves corrosion resistance and coating adhesion without adding any weight or changing part size. Aluminum also provides excellent conductivity.
blast
in the process, an abrasive (usually beads, sand or sodium bicarbonate) is "blasted" on the surface of the part to be treated. This causes contaminants to be removed and the parts to present the desired texture. Learn more about our blasting services on the Parts Blast page.
the vibration
in this polishing method, place the part in a vibration bowl fitted with the grinding medium. Vibration polishing is a cheap way to remove burrs and leave parts with slightly rounded edges.
