    On February 4, 2022, the International Network of Food Safety Authorities (INFOSAN) jointly managed by the World Health Organization and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO ) released the 2021 Fourth Quarter Summary, which primarily reports on food safety incidents in the fourth quarter of 2021 , accumulatively.
    There were 64 food safety incidents involving 86 WHO Member States and territories .
    Of these, 33 incidents involved biological hazards, 18 involved undeclared allergens/ingredients, 6 involved physical hazards, 6 involved chemical hazards, and 1 had an unknown hazard .
    The most common food categories in the 64 events in the fourth quarter included fish and other seafood, meat and meat products, snack desserts and other foods, nuts and oilseeds, vegetables and vegetable products, and more .
