Recently, major semiconductor manufacturer Intel Corporation emphasized that the electricity consumption of its manufacturing operations in the United States and Europe has reached the milestone
of obtaining all electricity needs from renewable resources such as solar, hydropower and wind.

Typically, retailers like Walmart and IKEA are known
for high levels of solar installations in large retail stores with high levels of self-consumption.
For energy-intensive consumers like semiconductor manufacturing, these tasks are quite difficult
    to accomplish.

In its latest 2017-2018 Intel Corporate Responsibility Report, Intel noted that its main manufacturing and R&D campus in Ochadillo, Arizona, makes extensive use of photovoltaic parking sheds on site, and has installed more than 8,000 solar parking spaces
    worldwide to date.

To date, the company estimates that it has installed about 3 million square feet of solar arrays at Intel sites in nine countries that generate 33 million kilowatt-hours, equivalent to the energy consumption of 3,700 U.
