    Food Science: What do you think is the joy of scientific research? What motivates you to stick to it? Can you share some experiences and insights with you?

    Professor Nie: For me, the joy of scientific research is the exploration of the unknown.

    Food Science: How do you guide the research and study of graduate students? How do you enlighten and encourage them when the pressure of scientific research is high?


    Professor Nie: My personal approach to mentoring graduate students is to communicate more.
    Basically, I hold group meetings with students once a week to ensure that each student can talk about his work and problems during the week.

    At the same time, when I am in the laboratory, I basically go to the laboratory and see students communicate with them

    When the pressure of scientific research is high, I will talk to them and consider the problem from their perspective.
