    Xinhua Net, November 30th (Reporter Zhang Jiansong) Tropical microcamomile, water hyacinth in the south, Eupatorium adenophorum in the southwest, Solidago canadensis in east China, and Spartina alterniflora from the coast.


    The Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences/Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, in cooperation with Shenyang University, Beijing Normal University and other 8 scientific research institutions across the country, after three years of investigation, the latest Chinese invasive plants have been found to have 515 species in 72 families and 285 genera


    The researchers divided China's 515 invasive alien plants into 5 levels


    The survey found that from cities to villages, from coastal to inland, all 34 provinces (municipalities, autonomous regions) in China have been "captured" by invasive alien plants, and invasive plants have also been found in many national nature reserves


    The proportion of alien plants that have invaded China is the largest in South America, followed by North America.


    Academician Chen Xiaoya, director of the Shanghai Chenshan Plant Science Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, said that China has a vast territory, spanning nearly 50 latitudes and 5 climatic zones, and most exotic species from all over the world can find suitable habitats.


    Almost half of the invasive alien plants in China are caused by intentional introduction, negligence and escape


    On the basis of the "Invasive Alien Plants Research Report in China", the Ministry of Science and Technology has officially launched the compilation of "Invasive Plants in China" in Shanghai a few days ago, comprehensively combing the background data of China's invasive alien plants, and "filed cases" for more than 500 invasive alien plants.
