The Badr-e-Shargh petrochemical plant is part of the large-scale Mokran petrochemical complex in the Chakhbahar region of Iran.
According to Reza Ebadzadeh, CEO of SPII, the Mokran petrochemical project management company, the MTO plant will be completed in September 2019.

The downstream projects of the MTO plant will include 600,000 tons/year of ethylene oxide, 450,000 tons/year of polypropylene and 150,000 tons/year of carbonyl alcohol

According to Ebadzadeh, since the Badr-e-Shargh methanol plant cannot meet half of the raw materials required by the MTO plant, the rest will be purchased from the local Mokran and further Assaluyeh plants
