On May 15, according to British media reports, Israeli nanotechnology company StoreDot launched an epoch-making "ultra-fast charging" electric vehicle battery, which the company said can be charged in as little as five minutes and supports a range of 300 miles (about 483 kilometers).
StoreDot said the technology breaks the limitations of traditional graphite lithium-ion batteries and is safer than lithium batteries because it is not flammable and burns at higher
temperatures.
The company says the technology is now in an advanced stage of research and development and will hit the market within three years, revolutionizing the way
electric vehicles are charged.
Dr.
Doren Mearsdorf, co-founder and CEO of StoreDot, said fast charging is key
to accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles.
Currently available battery technologies all require long charging times, which makes electric vehicles not well suited to the needs of the public

StoreDot showed in 2015 how to use the technology to charge a phone in just a few seconds, which supposedly stores more power
for the phone faster.
