    Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is seeking comments
    on strengthening phthalate restrictions in children's toys and child care products.
    The CPSC proposes to adopt all of the recommendations of the Chronic Hazards Advisory Panel (CHAP) in its July 2014 report, and the final rule will take effect
    180 days after the date of publication in the Federal Register.

    Section 108 of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) permanently prohibits the sale of children's toys or child care articles containing di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP) or benzyl phthalate (BBP) in concentrations exceeding 0.
    1%, and temporarily prohibits the sale of diisononyl phthalate (DINP) and diisodecyl phthalate ( DIDP) and di-n-octyl phthalate (DNOP) children's toys and child care articles
