Mitsui Chemicals recently announced that it will increase production of cyclic olefin copolymer APEL

To this end, the company will build a new production line at its Osaka plant, which is expected to be completed
in March 2022.
At that time, Mitsui Chemicals will increase its APEL production capacity by 50%.
APEL is a cyclic olefin copolymer product developed by Mitsui Chemicals and is mainly used for camera multi-viewing in
smartphones.
In recent years, the market demand for this product has grown
dramatically.
To this end, Mitsui Chemicals has decided to increase APEL production to establish a stable supply system and further expand its business related to
automotive cameras, head-mounted displays, and medical applications.
Mitsui Chemicals said that it will position its ICT functional polymer business, including APEL, as a growth area
