Issue 10/2020 - New low-mist oxygen absorber reduces haze in PET packaging

On May 13, PolyIOne announced the availability of ColorMatrix TM Amosorb^TM4020G
, a non-nylon low-mist oxygen absorber available in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) rigid packaging.
Compared to the original product, the product can greatly reduce packaging haze, reduce the impact on the PET recovery stream and maintain the same reliable oxygen uptake function

PET is commonly used in food and beverage packaging for design flexibility and clarity, and is easy to recycle
multiple times.
In order to protect food and extend its shelf life, PET packaging often uses additives, but this reduces the clarity of the packaging, which affects the appearance of the product and the consumer's perception
of the brand value.

This product not only helps to reduce haze, but also significantly improves yellowing in the mechanical recycling process compared to other similar products, thereby reducing the impact
