Biomass energy technology is expected to be industrialized
A few days ago, it was learned from the Chinese Academy of Sciences that Princeton University in the United States, the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, and the PetroChina Petrochemical Research Institute jointly completed the research
on refining biofuels from duckweed as a cheap raw material.
Studies have shown that duckweed refineries, which produce more than 5,000 barrels of transportation fuel per day, can compete
with oil transportation fuels when oil prices exceed $72 per barrel.
The latest study from China and the United States points out that analysis of different refining conditions shows that when oil prices exceed $100 per barrel, the small-scale duckweed refining process (producing 1,000 barrels of transportation fuel per day) can compete with oil transportation fuel in cost, while the larger duckweed refining process (producing 5,000 barrels of transportation fuel per day) can compete
with oil transportation fuel when the oil price exceeds $72 per barrel.
Domestic experts pointed out that according to the data obtained at this stage, as soon as 2014, duckweed oil is expected to move towards industrialization, and people can really use algae biofuels
.
Before the release of this research results, domestic companies have been involved in the technical research
in the field of "algae to oil".
Headquartered in Langfang, Hebei Province, ENN Group attracted global attention
as early as 2009 for its successful development of "microalgae absorbing carbon and spitting oil".
Liu Minsheng, general manager of ENN Group's biomass energy technology center, once told the media that by 2014, the company's microalgae biodiesel demonstration project in Inner Mongolia will successively reach a design capacity of 5,000 tons and officially realize industrialization
.
