Issue 12/2016 - Evonik opens a new silicon-coated film plant in Germany

Evonik said a few days ago that it has built a new film composite plant in Marl, Germany, to produce jacket membranes that can be used for nanofiltration of organic solvents and gas separation

The new product will be launched on the market
in the second half of this year.

The "coat" of the film sheet is made of special silicon or other materials, which are further produced and processed to form solvent-resistant or air-impermeable spiral-wound modules

The corresponding silicone coating is produced in-house and guarantees the separation properties
of the film.
