The acetate tow unit at the Ocotland plant is expected to operate until the fourth quarter of 2018 to ensure a smooth completion of the closure process

The integration aims to reduce fixed costs, align future production capacity with anticipated industry demand, and strengthen Celanese's competitive position
.
Marcel van Amerongen, Vice President, Cellulose Derivatives Business, Celanese, said: "The global business environment for acetate tow products is being challenged, global demand for acetate tow is declining, and we do not expect this business environment to improve
in the foreseeable future.
