    Sibur uses GTC technology to process coal gas to produce benzene Recently, Russia's Sibur signed a technical agreement with Sulzer GTC Technology to provide technical services for Sibur to produce benzene
    series products at the Kstovo olefin production plant in Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia, including fractionation column design, first and second stage hydrotreatment, aromatic extraction and thermal hydrodealkylation technology

    The plant will process gas from several plants near Sibur, produce high-purity benzene at low cost, and recover non-aromatic hydrocarbons as cracking feedstock

    Sulzer GTC will design a new GT-BTX unit to retrofit existing gas fractionation, primary and secondary hydrotreating, and thermal hydrodealkylation units to handle additional feeds
    .
    The scope of the contract includes basic engineering support, technical services, proprietary catalysts, solvents and equipment
