Petronas acquires shares in PCC's oxane ester business

Petrochemical Corporation (PCG) recently announced the acquisition of a 50% stake
in the oxkyl esters of PCC's Malaysian subsidiary.
With this acquisition, the two companies plan to build an oxyalkyl esters plant at the Kertih complex in Terengganu, Malaysia, to produce ethoxy esters and polyether polyols
.
The project is scheduled to start construction in 2021 and start production
in 2023.
PCG said the acquisition will help it grow its specialty chemicals business
.
This is the company's first foray into the specialty oxalkyl esters market
