Shell has launched a new α-olefin plant, Shell, today announced that it has built a new α-olefin plant at its chemical plant

in Geisma, Louisiana.
Construction of the new unit started in 2016 with a capacity of 425,000 tons
.
The commissioning of the new unit brings the total production capacity of the plant in the city of Geisma to 1.
3 million tons
.
Shell said the start-up of the new plant made it the world's largest producer of
α-olefins.
