Issue 20/2017 - Silane-modified silicone products improve performance in building materials

WACKER is presenting two new silane-modified polymers – GENIOSIL XM 20, GENIOSIL XM25 and the new SILRESEL BS 6920 silicone binder
– at the China Housing Industry & Equipment Expo 2017.

The first two can be combined with WACKER's GENIOSIL® STP-E 35 base polymer to formulate one-component, high-resilience, low-modulus sealants with superior adhesion for prefabricated buildings

SILRES?BS 6920 is based on an alpha silane-terminated polyether product that cures with the help of moisture in the air and is an efficient binder
for impregnating cement-bonded substrates.
The improved polyether chemical structure gives the product the characteristics of low viscosity and high solid content, which can easily penetrate into the micropores of inorganic substrates such as cementitious bases, react and solidify in the micropores, play the role of filling the micropores, strengthening the substrate, and showing excellent antifouling ability

The impregnating agent made from it can be applied by roller coating, spraying or brushing, usually twice applied
.
After 24 hours after the completion of the construction, it is basically completely cured, which can be crushed by pedestrians or vehicles, and provides excellent stain resistance, and can still be easily removed in the case of pollution from various media such as red wine, ink, coffee, engine oil and diesel, floor cleaner for 24 hours, leaving almost no traces of
pollution.
