Mitsubishi Chemical will invest EUR 110 million to expand its polyester film production line in Germany
Mitsubishi Chemical recently announced that it will invest EUR 110 million to expand the polyester film production capacity
of its subsidiary Mitsubishi Mylar Film Co.
, Ltd.
(MFE) in Wiesbaden, Germany.
The new line, with a design capacity of 27,000 tons of polyester film per year, is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024 and will become one of the
world's largest high-performance polyester film production facilities.
This is Mitsubishi Chemical's third investment
in its global polyester film business since 2018.
The first investment was the opening of a new production line in South Carolina, USA in 2018; The second is to invest in a new production line in Jakarta, Indonesia, which is scheduled to start production
in 2022.
Currently, Mitsubishi Chemical has polyester film production facilities
in Japan, China, Indonesia, the United States and Germany.
In the future, Mitsubishi Chemical will continue to expand its production capacity and strive to become the world's leading company in high-performance polyester film, while contributing to the realization of sustainability goals and the realization of a circular economy
