Mitsubishi Chemical postponed the 350,000-tonne/year MMA project
Mitsubishi Chemical (Mitsubishi Chemical) announced that it is promoting a new methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer plant using Mitsubishi's own technology "New Ethylene Process" in Geismar, Louisiana
, USA.
The final investment decision for this project was originally scheduled for mid-2022, but it will be postponed for 6~18 months
depending on the current market volatility.
The project has completed the front-end engineering design (FEED) phase and is expected to obtain permits from various regulatory authorities, including wetland and atmospheric protection applications, within 2023, and a final investment decision
will be made in 2023.
