    PQ sells its high-performance materials business

    PQ Group, a U.
    S.
    specialty chemicals company, reached an agreement with private equity firm Jordan to sell its performance materials business
    for $650 million.

    PQ said it will focus on its high-growth, high-margin catalysis and refining services businesses
    in the future.
    The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close
    by the end of 2020.
