Total and Plastic Energy build a chemical recycling project
Recently, Total and Plastic Energy, an advanced recycling technology company, announced a strategic partnership to develop a chemical recycling project in France and set up a chemical recycling plant
.
The new plant, with an annual capacity of 15,000 metric tons per year, will be located on the new Total platform zéro crude in Grandpuits, France, and the project is expected to be operational
in early 2023.
The project represents the beginning
of Total's collaboration with Plastic Energy on chemical recycling.
In addition, Total also signed an agreement with Plastic Energy to purchase part of Plastic Energy's pyrolysis oil, or TACOIL,
which began production at its Spanish plant in 2020.
