    Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officially announced a plan on June 2 to drastically reduce carbon emissions from power plants, calling for a 30 percent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions from U.
    S.
    power plants by 2030 compared to 2005 levels, a reduction in particulate, nitrogen oxide, and sulfur dioxide pollution levels by at least 25 percent, while reducing electricity bills by about 8 percent
    through energy efficiency.
    The American Chemical Industry Council (ACC) responded on its website to what was seen as "Obama's most ambitious action on climate change to date," saying the EPA should consider the impact
    the new rules would have on the U.
