    BASF and G-Philos strengthen cooperation

    BASF Fixed Energy Storage Co.
    , Ltd.
, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BASF, has signed a sales and marketing agreement
for sodium-sulfur stationary batteries (NAS batteries) with G-Philos, a leading power-to-gas (P2G) technology company in South Korea.

The battery will be used in
P2G projects, power grids and microgrids.
The two companies will develop and market energy storage systems
based on BASF's NAS batteries and G-Philos power conversion system (PCS®).
G-Philos will also purchase NAS batteries
with a total capacity of 12 MWh through BASF Stationary Energy Storage GmbH.

    ®®

The cooperation between BASF and G-Philos began in 2020
    .
At that time, the NAS battery system and PCS developed by G-Philos were deployed in the P2G demonstration project
implemented by G-Philos in cooperation with the South Korean Midland Electric Power Company (KOMIPO) at the Myeong Wind Farm on Jeju Island, South Korea.
In this project, the NAS battery acts as an energy buffer between the wind turbine and the electrolyzer, ensuring stable hydrogen
generation from the remaining wind power generation even in the event of wind fluctuations.
Due to the need to be close to hydrogen production, NAS batteries were selected
    for their excellent safety.
Today, the concept has been running successfully for more than a year, and the partners look forward to expanding the cooperation
    even further.

Under the agreement, BASF and G-Philos plan to strengthen their commitment
to long-term energy storage and climate-friendly hydrogen markets in South Korea and Asia.
G-Philos also intends to offer a range of pre-configured solutions
through its own distribution network, combining NAS batteries with their power conversion systems.
