LANXESS presents the new LE series of ultra-low pressure membrane elements

At the International Water Exhibition held in Shanghai on June 5~7, 2013, Lanyess' new LE series ultra-low pressure membrane elements were unveiled for the first time, further expanding LANXESS's water treatment membrane separation elements
based on reverse osmosis membranes.

Alan Sharpe, project leader for reverse osmosis membranes at LANXESS's Liquid Purification Technologies business unit, said: "The operating pressure of LE ultra-low pressure membrane modules is about
20%~40% lower than that of membrane modules in our standard product series.
This will allow plants using this new membrane module to significantly reduce energy consumption levels
.

Sharpe said that the main application area of reverse osmosis membrane elements of LE ultra-low pressure membrane elements is the desalination application
of brackish water.
These membrane elements can be used for industrial and municipal surface and groundwater treatment, including the treatment of sewage

The global demand for ultra-low pressure membrane modules is enormous
.
In some regions, its market share is close to 70%.

The introduction of ultra-low pressure membrane elements has enriched LANXESS' brackish water reverse osmosis membrane product range
